So, Katie and I got to watch this last night, and I’m still cracking up.  If you’re a mother of much time at all … pretty funny.  Of course, being a mother that probably means you don’t have time to watch a movie about how crazy a mother’s life is, so …  Hopefully you can hide in the closet for a few minutes and at least the trailer will make you laugh!

First Advance Review of The Tears of Adina!
21 July 2015

“Cope uses this second outing, with its large magical cast, to weave another satisfying mystery and continue the long game of his overall tale. Early on, he reminds readers that a prophetic red star to the north foretells doom with the line, “Seems higher this year…Only six years left.” His dynamic of light and darkness recalls Star Wars, as does the mystical theme that “everything is made of the Flame” and that those who ignore it “wear a blindfold.” Nevertheless, the story’s elemental disciplines offer truly open-ended innovations, because, as Samech says, “your ability to use them is controlled by what you can think of and what you think can be done.” The central mystery will draw readers into an enchanting final tableau, leaving expectations galloping for the third volume.  The glimmering continuation of a detailed, emotionally rich saga.” – Kirkus Reviews

Countryside hardcover version released 17 December 2013 Countryside: The Book of the Wise was released in hardcover this past weekend on both Barnes & Noble and Amazon! Countryside also received a great review on Barnes & Noble today: “Great book for me and my 10 year old son – I came across this book for my son and decided to read it myself while he was reading it and telling me how much he enjoyed it. A great magical adventure with the right amount of mystery that kept us entertained. The protagonist is an excellent role model for my son and the family portrayed is a terrific example of what it means to look out for each other and do the right thing especially when things get difficult.” – Stefano Eger Countryside nook version released 14 october 2013 Village Green Press, LLC published the nook version of Countryside: The Book of the Wise last week! Countryside’s first customer review! 26 july 2013 Countryside received its first customer review on Amazon! “This book is aimed at a younger market, but at age 35 I still looooooove an amazing story. I had fun reading this and delighted in the details provided to cause the imagination to soar. You know you’re a book nerd when you are sad to finish and downright bummed when there isn’t already a sequel to snatch up. For the younger reader [really, anyone junior high and older] this book is captivating, clean, full of imagination, adventure, and details! I relish the day when there are more to this series and hopefully a movie! Can you tell I love a good story???”  – Sarah Hall from Texas To see review, click here. Release of Countryside 16 july 2013 Countryside: The Book of the Wise will be published by Village Green Press, LLC in ebook format on the 17th of July 2013.  The Book of the Wise will release for Kobo, Kindle, Nook, and iBook.  A hardcopy of the book will be released in the following weeks and sold via Amazon and Barnes & Noble online.   Website Redesign 19 june 2013 Smart Author Sites is currently redesigning the old website.  Updates will be posted here as well as on the Facebook page, possibly along with some sneak peeks.  The website will have some intriguing new features, as well as some new content.  Smart Author Sites has stated the updated version will be launched in July 2013.   D-Day 06 june 2013 Sixty-nine years ago today, June 6, 1944, the first men of the American forces landed in participation of D-Day. The landing occurred along the beaches of Normandy, France in order to begin the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany. Thousands of men were killed and wounded, but by the end of the first day they had a foothold. It is again a privilege and an honor to remember these men who risked and gave so much. Although used in reference to another battle of World War II, Prime Minister Churchill’s quote rings true for many, D-Day included. “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few …” – Churchill, Winston, 20 August 1940   Memorial Day 28 may 2013 The past few days proved to be a good Memorial Day weekend. We were surrounded by family and friends. I was able to sit and watch much needed rain pour down off the roof with a buddy of mine and his boy one evening, watch the girls and their friends laugh and slide down an “improvised” slip and slide one day (Katie even talked me into getting on it … kinda like watching a small flying hippo coming in for a landing), and grill and play over at the grandparents another day. Most important of all though … I was able to start the conversation with my oldest about what a privilege it is to remember and honor those who didn’t make it home.   Countryside: The Book of the Wise 25 april 2013 Countryside: The Book of the Wise will be released in early summer. This will be the first book in the Countryside series!  Release dates and further information will be posted as I know them. You can also check the Village Green website for updates.
